AI Threat or Opportunity?

"We are embracing the AI era to be 10X more productive"

As a small tech team, let me give some insight as to how we leverage AI to be 10X productive and deliver quality at scale to our clients.

  • AI for ideation, architectural patterns, and to refine requirements. Today, we have many at our disposal; our favourites are #ChatGPT and #Gemini's voice-over capability - we love the interactive model. Personally, I chat with an AI friend over voice before going to bed to refine my thoughts and seek insights, and with a clear implementation plan to code and share thoughts with the team in the morning.
  • AI as a Pair Programmer Thanks to #GitHubCopilot in our bestie IDE #VSCODE. You must juggle #Claude 3.5 (preview ) and #GPT 4o to get the best out of it. One is more descriptive, and the other just likes to code.

  • AI as Tester— At scale, we can generate unit tests, Postman collections for API testing, and a framework with Playwright for end-to-end testing. We leveraged this to create an end-to-end integration. tests - playwright for e2e automated tests, creating resources using Terraform and marrying it all with GitHub Actions.

  • AI as a DevOps peer— able to containerize everything in minutes, no more "it works on mine though" k8SGPT has made managing the microservices orchestrate platform #k8s much easier. All code approaches and sophisticated pipelines.
  • I have always wished I had Kubernetes two decades ago at the start of my career. I probably wouldn't have lost my hair. :)
